We were in Mongolia for a shoot as part of our project for the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (eiti.org). The freezing December temperatures are not the easiest for operating a camera, but with the help of a brand new polar-brace our camera was able to cope in temperatures as low as -22 degrees celsius.

We also shot a bunch of interviews with Politicians, Civil Society representatives, and business leaders in Ulaanbaatar. We travelled to Mongolia with over 40 kilos of equipment, including a back-up camera and a five point interview lighting kit.

Our trip also took us into the rural parts of Mongolia, where we not only had to deal with the cold, but also the dusty conditions of a open-cut coal mine. But, we also managed to get a great chance to grab a few shots of some herders and their sheep.
